According to a report by the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of the earthquake was 156 km south-southeast of Faizabad in Afghanistan with a depth of 156 km. Talking about earthquake in India, its tremors were also felt in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir. An official said mobile services were disrupted in some parts of the Jammu region immediately after the quake. As per NCS, the epicenter of the earthquake at Latitude 71. degree North and Longitude at 71 .09 degree east was at a depth of 156 km. Tremors were also felt at many places in Uttarakhand including Uttarkashi and Chamoli.
