Kashmir NGO terror funding case: NIA makes first arrest

National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a close aide of a human rights activist in connection with the ongoing probe in a case involving a non-governmental organization (NGO) related to terrorism financing. According to an NIA spokesperson, Irfan Mehraj of Srinagar is the first accused to be arrested after a comprehensive probe into the NGO terrorism funding case registered in October . Irfan Mehraj (human rights activist) was a close associate of Khurram Parvez and was working with his organization, Jammu and Kashmir Citizens’ Groups Coalition (JKCCS). Parvez was arrested by the NIA in November 2021 and arrested in 15 May on charges of anti-national activities. along with six others filed a charge sheet against him.
