Chief Justice Chandrachud said on the collegium system of appointment of judges that not every system is flawless, but it is the best system that we have developed. If the judiciary has to remain independent, we have to protect it from outside influences. He said that there is absolutely no pressure from the government regarding how the collegium is to decide in the three matters. In my 15 years as a judge, no one told me how to decide a case. I do not want to engage with the Law Minister on this issue, we may have different views.
