According to ANI, a health advisory was issued on March 4 2023 asking the general public to use masks and stay indoors. More vulnerable citizens – senior citizens, children below the age of 12, sick persons and pregnant women were advised to take extra precautions. Several medical camps were organized. Oxygen beds were installed. 200 People sought medical help. 35 Fire Tender, 35 Excavator, 12 Four helicopters with high capacity water pumps, and firemen and 200 support staff were engaged in extinguishing efforts at the site. There was no CCTV at the spot. The reply of the State of Kerala states that the Brahmapuram Effluent Treatment Plant is wholly owned and maintained by the Cochin Corporation.
