Meanwhile, Arun Pillai was taken into custody on Monday evening under criminal sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) after prolonged questioning and produced in court on Tuesday. This is 11th arrest in this case by ED. Arun Pillai is a partner in a company named ‘Robin Distilleries LLP’. The ED claimed that the company was owned by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and Member of the Legislative Council K. Represents the alleged liquor cartel ‘South Group’ linked to Kavita and others. Pillai is also linked to arrested liquor baron Sameer Mahandru, his wife Geetika Mahndru and their company Indospirit Group.
