Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that out of the total capital expenditure of 2023- procurement of defense equipment from domestic manufacturers 75 increased to per cent. He said that allocation of 34 per cent of the capital expenditure to buy defense equipment from domestic companies would yield about one lakh crore rupees. The defense minister said that allocation of three-fourths of defense capital expenditure for procurement from domestic companies is a step towards self-reliance. He said that a new path is being paved for the strengthening of the Indian defense industry. This is a new beginning, a new era of self-reliance in the Indian defense sector, in which this sector is marching ahead on the path of progress with new energy, new determination and new enthusiasm.
