Congress MLA Manoj Chawla – Photo: Amar Ujala Expansion Congress MLA Manoj Chawla, who has been in jail for the last few days in the case of fertilizer loot from the co-operative society of Alot development block of Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh, has got bail. MLA Chawla has been granted bail by the Jabalpur-based Madhya Pradesh High Court. Earlier MLA Chawla had presented anticipatory bail plea which was rejected by the court. MLA Chawla himself appeared in the court on January 8 after the anticipatory bail was rejected. After this he was formally arrested by the police. Later, the Alot police brought him on a one-day police remand.

It is significant that Manoj Chawla and his accomplices in the case of fertilizer loot at Alot’s cooperative fertilizer warehouse on October 2022 A case of robbery was registered. MLA Manoj Chawla was absconding after the robbery case was registered. Because of this, the police had started gathering information to attach his property.
