New Delhi: Presently there are 655 medical colleges in the country. Earlier there were only 63 thousand seats of MBBS in the country, which have now increased to 1.63 lakh. But despite the increase in the number of medical colleges and MBBS seats over time, there is no medical college in districts of the country. Due to the limited number of medical colleges in the country, thousands of Indian students go abroad for medical studies.
