Court said, the writ petition is completely wrong
A bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice MM Sundresh gave this order while hearing the petition of Vishnu Gupta, President of Hindu Sena and Birender Kumar Singh, a farmer. The bench said, the writ petition is completely misconceived and has no merit, accordingly it is dismissed. Right at the beginning of the hearing, Justice Khanna said that this is a completely wrong idea and has no merit. How can you even argue on this. I believe this petition is wrong.
Shall we impose a complete ban?
Senior advocate Pinky Anand, appearing for the petitioners, urged the apex court to take note of the timing of the release of the documentary and said that the situation is such when the Prime Minister of Britain is an Indian. He said that India is emerging as an economic power and now it has become the fifth largest economy in the world. The bench said, do you believe that this documentary will make any difference. He said, what is this? Do you want us to ban it completely? Senior advocate Pinky Anand argued that similar things had happened during the Nirbhaya incident, the Kashmir dispute and the Mumbai riots. Dismissing the petition, the bench said that now do not waste our time.

Accusing the BBC of being biased in the matter of India and its government, the petition states that its documentary on PM Narendra Modi is the result of a deep-rooted conspiracy against the global rise of India and its prime minister. The top court had on February 3 sought response of the Center and other parties on separate petitions challenging the government’s decision to ban the BBC documentary. The petitioners on whose petitions notices were issued by the apex court include veteran journalist N Ram, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, advocate Prashant Bhushan and advocate ML Sharma.
