Extension 1675268249 of Tehsil to Chilhari On Wednesday, the local people handed over a letter to the in-charge minister Ramkishore Kanvre to give the status. The locals have said through the letter that on the basis of population, there are more than eight thousand villagers present in Chilhari. It has been said in it that going to Manpur for the work related to Tehsil is a cause of trouble for the local people and the villagers from the nearby villages. That’s why Chilhari should be given the status of Tehsil.

Earlier it was proposed to give Tehsil status to Indwar. But Indwar is a submergence area i.e. flood affected area. In the survey conducted by the government, Chilhari is the focal point of all the villages. More than 415 villages are connected to Chilhari.

Local villagers told that Chilhari was given the status of Tehsil. Naib Tehsildar had started sitting in Chilhari. The work of Tehsil was started in Chilhari. But due to political pressures, Amarpur new tehsil was proposed. If Amarpur tehsil is formed then the area attached to Katni district along with being away from attached villages. Due to these reasons, the villagers of the included villages have no less difficulty in going to Amarpur for revenue related matters.

Through the letter, the villagers have told the in-charge minister that village Chilhari is an area connected to more than half a hundred villages. So Chilhari would be suitable for Tehsil office. ,
