Godse was helped by Dr. Parchure and his friend Gangadhar Dandawat in killing Gandhi. Shinde’s cantonment in Gwalior was the place from where the pistol was purchased. It was here that Nathuram was also trained to kill Mahatma Gandhi. Nathuram Godse took gun training on the banks of the Golden Rekha river in Gwalior. When Nathuram Godse took gun training, after that 20 Nathuram on the morning of January Godse took a train from Gwalior railway station and left for Delhi.
