The period of ‘Chillai-Kalan’ is going on in Kashmir. It lasts for 40 days, in which a significant drop in temperature is recorded along with cold wave in the Kashmir Valley. There is a strong possibility of snowfall during this period, especially in the high altitude areas. The period of ‘Chillai-Kalan’ will end on 30 January and will be followed by ‘Chillai-Khurd’ of 30 days, which will also take place in the Kashmir Valley. The cold wave will continue. Then 20 there will be a period of ‘crying baby’ during the day, then there will be a decrease in the cold in the valley.
