After the Supreme Court stayed the two-year sentence in the Modi surname case, the way has been cleared for the restoration of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha membership. All eyes will be on the Lok Sabha Secretariat on Monday when it is likely to review the Supreme Court’s stay on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s conviction in the ‘Modi alias’ case and decide on the cancellation of his Parliament membership. If the decision to disqualify Gandhi as a member of the Lok Sabha is revoked, the priority of the Congress would be for Gandhi to play the role of a key opposition speaker during the debate on the no-confidence motion on Tuesday.
